Living hell

by Bruce Wadd

What’s ‘living in hell’ like? I don’t know, but over the years I have heard the expression many times.

Then as I have contemplated a little further, I think there have been times in my life when hell has been visited. I would describe it simply as those periods of minutes, hours, days, months… and even years of living without acknowledging God.

There have been so many times in my life when I have searched for satisfaction, chasing pleasure in pure selfishness, and when the ‘end of the rainbow’ has been reached nothing is found except deep disappointment, dissatisfaction and despair.

I think living hell is simply living without God… and I am ashamed to admit how many times I have ended up in this lonely, painful position, defiled and dirty in sin.

I just again thank Him for His willingness to not only listen and accept my desperate need, but to clean me up, and to point me in heaven’s direction.

There is a simple, yet often painful way. It’s in submitting to Him! Are you willing? Do you want to get out of hell that much? He’s ready and able!

Here’s David’s response…

"I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along"

Psalm 40:1-2, NLT

TODAY, talk to Him… and get out of hell!
