Living the dream

by Bruce Wadd

The ten year-old was walking along the roadside returning from a  day at school.  In his hands was the most precious item in his life at this point – a football!  Every few steps he would throw a ‘fake pass’ or a ‘dummy’, mimicking his famous rugby league hero.  He was living his dream of becoming a future rugby league legend!

This young man had no idea he was sharing his inner most desire with me.  But as I drove past him, in the ten seconds of opportunity, his actions and his face told it all! He dreamed of great sporting prowess!

It’s a privilege to eavesdrop people’s dreams, goals and aspirations.  It is even more an honour when those dreams become a reality over time.

Think about some of the things that you desire in your life.  What would you really like to be doing right now?  Where do your real passions lie?  What gets you going in the morning?

God-given desires and dreams are sewed in us when we are born, and God waits for us to acknowledge them, to chase them, and finally to come into God’s design for our lives.

Here’s some eternal wisdom for you to ponder…

“Be delighted with the Lord.

Then He will give you all your heart’s desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.

Trust Him to help you do it and He will.”

Psalms 37:4,5

TODAY, trust God and live your dream!
