Lifted off

by Bruce Wadd

Walking on Tasmania’s famous Overland Track was an awesome experience. Seventy-five kilometres of fresh air, mountains, temperate rainforest, snow and ice. It was a photographer’s paradise, filled with grandeur at every turn.

The worst part, though, was carrying a heavy pack with all our camping needs. Beyond the scenery, the greatest joy of the day was lifting off this necessary burden. As the heavy pack was removed it immediately felt light. You wanted to bounce, to jump, to run. It felt like you could almost float away, the burden was gone, having carried it for the day!

How much are you carrying around? Are you loaded with sin, guilt, or shame.

Why not just give it to God, even if it is the hundredth time. Let Him carry the burden, because He understands!

"Now I will take the load from your shoulders;

I will free your hands from their heavy tasks."

Psalm 81:6 NLT

TODAY, drop the burden. Talk to Him… and lift off!
