Left till last… again! by
Have you noticed that some kids are always last?
Picture this, your class goes out to their PE lesson, and you line up with everyone else. The teacher chooses two captains, but of course, you never consider being chosen first is a possibility.
You’re painfully aware of your lack of sporting prowess, but deep down you ache for the chance to be chosen ahead of someone else! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to not be left till last?
One day your teacher, in her wisdom, does something rather profound - it changes your whole life! In front of the whole class, she takes the risk of highlighting the student’s good points.
As she randomly moves around the class, I again was left till last. Nervously, I listen as she finally shares the fabulous talents that I have in many different areas, often hidden behind my shyness.
I listen carefully. I’m shocked by how much she has noticed. The class is silent, overawed by the hidden talents that no one knew about. I allow the golden words to sink to my inner being.
From that day onwards I would never be left till last again. In my mind I have found worth… and my teacher becomes my best confidant!
You are of value! Jesus gave up everything in heaven, came to this earth, suffered and died so that you would never have to be last, or miss out again. Why not accept His sacrifice today!
“And the godly shall rejoice in the Lord, and trust and praise Him.” Psalms 64:10
TODAY, don’t be left till last… put Him first!
