Leave it on

by Bruce Wadd

I am being stretched to the end of my patience at the moment.  Why, you ask?  My warning to you, if you continue to read, is that you may find the answer gross.

I currently have a skin cancer that is under treatment.  It’s an alternative product that is applied to the affected area of the skin for twenty-four hours.  Then the skin is carefully washed and left to do its healing work.

Within hours a sore begins to develop, the result of the medication beginning to attack the cancer cells and remove them from the body. Within another day, a large scab develops over the wound, and all I want to do is pull it off.  But, upon instruction, the thick covering must be left on till it naturally falls off.

My desire, and where my patience is being truly tested, is to rip the scab off.  Leaving it, though, means the healing will continue naturally underneath.

God may leave you in circumstances far longer than you think necessary. But if you know that He is in charge, you know that He is working on things for your good.  What a great way to develop patience!

At the right time, things will change and you will be renewed ‘from the inside out’!

“And we know that ALL that happens

to us is working for our good if we love

God and are fitting into His plans.”
Romans 8:28
