In the lap of luxury

by Bruce Wadd

The idea of living with incredible wealth and opulence is incredibly foreign to most people.

In the western world, ‘lifestyle’ is often held up as the ultimate goal. To live in the big home, have an expensive boat, regular overseas holidays, a holiday place, plenty of cars, quality jewellery and clothing… are merely part of the array of requirements of wealth!

The fascinating part is the way the media encourage us to aspire, even envy this position in life. And please… I am not saying these things are wrong!

But let me propose something far greater, and incredibly more impacting in the long term. Once all those things are achieved, or even some of them, what then?

Isn’t it much greater to be living in God, where nothing else really matters?

True luxury, I propose, is to have peace inside! To know that God is in charge, and that you have life eternal – what opulence!

Here’s a simple truth… let it speak deeply to your soul!

“He is your life!” Colossians 3:3

Is He?
