Lady stands

by Bruce Wadd

The hymn was announced.  The organist began the prelude and then the congregation stood to sing.  Being a guest I didn’t know the words, and thus needed to read off the provided screen.  That’s where the problem rose!

In front of the data projector was standing a rather large older lady, robustly singing from her hymnal. She sang, oblivious to her dress blocking the words on the screen.

With the rest of the congregation almost quiet because of the lack of words, it took a discreet tap on the shoulder to tell her of the situation.  Within seconds, with smiles on many faces, the volume of the singing increased noticeably as the words became visible.

Are you aware of what’s going on around you?  More specifically, is your Christianity relevant to the people you connect with every day?  If it’s not, why not?

The Gospel needs to translate to everyday living, especially the many interactions we have with others, or it's useless!

TODAY, I want to encourage you to ponder how other people see Jesus in you. The joy and peace can’t help but show through, if your relationship with Him is real and alive!

"But as the man went on his way he began

to share the good news that he was

healed; and as a result, such throngs soon

surrounded Jesus... and people from

every where came to Him there!"

Mark 1:45
