Lacking depth by
Knowing that surfing took a long time to learn I was prepared for the initial struggles and frustrations. Surprisingly, within an hour I had progressed to a point where I was capturing the wind and travelling a few metres before losing my balance – quite an achievement I was told for the first day!
A few weeks later, after many hours of fun and falling, I took the sailboard onto a large lake and thought I’d try an experiment – leaving out the centreboard out to increase the speed.
What an interesting discovery! With the wind hitting twenty-five knots plus, it was only seconds before this stationery watercraft was zipping across the surface virtually out of control, with only a small back fin in the water. It wasn’t very long before I became aware of the sailboard slipping sideways, desperately missing the depth of the centreboard to hold its course.
How much depth is there in your life? When difficult times come against you – and for some of you, that means today – how does it affect your life? With a strong relationship with Christ with Him as your depth, adversity will merely give you agility, strength and speed.
“God who gives you hope will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him.” Romans 15:13
Today, go forward by going deep – spend time with Him!
