How far can you see?

by Bruce Wadd

In the morning I stood on top of my favourite hill, catching an early glimpse of the day ahead. The previous evening had seen rain, the humidity increase, and now a fresh cool breeze was blowing, stunning me into reality.

The view was different. As I lifted my eyes, the first little rise in the distance was easily seen, trees defining the top, with houses all around. Behind this rise was another large group of houses rising to the next hill, but this time the defining trees on top were a lighter shade of green.

As my eyes lifted even further, another set of hills were noted, because of their grey haziness, with details becoming more difficult to distinguish.

Beyond this rise were clouds, fog, and the occasional peak of a distant mountain showing through, painted in dull grey.

What a privilege it was to be able to see so far!

Do you have a favourite place to stand and see? What kind of things are you picturing ahead of you, in the foreground and the background of your life?

Maybe you can only see to the first hill ahead of you? Maybe the mountain in front of you is so big, that everything is blocked out of your vision?

Whatever is your situation, stop! Stand for a moment, in silence, and view your future. Take whatever comes into view and run it through a truth about your life.

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.

They are plans for good and not for evil,

to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

What’s more important is reminding yourself how far God can see on your behalf!

TODAY, look through His eyes. He has 20/20 vision!
