Home

by Brandy Ferguson

I was overjoyed as I drove to pick him up and couldn’t wait to give him a big hug.  After five days away at summer camp, my son was finally back home with me.  Though we missed him while he was away, we knew he needed this time.

Jesus left God’s side only once, to go and fulfil His purposes on the earth.  When He was finished, He told the disciples He was going to prepare a place for us, a place we could call home someday. God must have been glad to have His only Son back with Him in His presence.

Whether we long to be with a loved one we’ve lost, or miss someone who is far away, we can find peace knowing that we have an eternal home in heaven with our Father.

“In my Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to

be with Me that you also may be where I am.”

John 14:2,3 (NIV)
