Hidden in exertion

by Bruce Wadd

"What ... is ... it ... about ... exercise ... that ... makes ... it ... so ... hard ... yet ... exhilarating?"

I was walking up a steep hill for my morning walk, puffing away.  And because I always carry my phone I recorded an inspiration for TT.  Upon listening to it later in the day, all I could hear were single words punctuated by deep breaths.

Isn’t it interesting that good exercise seems to allow the deep thoughts and emotions to be exposed?  I always find it easier to share my more profound thoughts with God when really pushing the body to its limits - it’s a good time to freely express all the emotions!

Exercise allows me to cry, be angry, scream, shout, let off steam, to sort things out!  I don’t think I could be so sane without the physical exertion!

What do you need to get off your chest?  Do you have deep unanswered questions desiring expression?  Exertion might be the answer!

Remember, Jesus often got away from the crowds by climbing a mountain and spending alone time with His Father!

“Let your roots grow down into Him

and draw up nourishment from Him.

See that you go on growing in the Lord,

and become strong and vigorous in

the truth you were taught.”
Colossians 2:7a
