Heart strokes

by Bruce Wadd

The sound of a crying infant can be a most irritating noise for many people, but for a mother it’s a completely different story.  She longs to go and touch the child - to provide warm affection!

Showing warmth is so important for the adult, so that the child can learn that life is worth living.  For a child the caress of a caring person heals the hurts, dries the tears and builds the esteem of this young human stroke by stroke.

Depending on what culture or family you grew up in, displaying physical affection will vary, but its importance is never lessened.

Our lives regularly need touching, just like the infant.  We seem to be built that way.  It is the heart that needs stroking the most!!

When was the last time you had your heart stroked?  Telling you your real worth in eternal terms?

Here’s a truth to contemplate…

“The Lord will not forsake his people,

for they are his prize.”

Psalms 94:14

Today, allow God to touch you!
