Half-time score

by Bruce Wadd

Queenslanders and Australians are known for coming back in the dying minutes of the game.  Let me be more specific … in the game I love watching, rugby league, I have witnessed many times where my teams, the Maroons or the Kangaroos, were behind at half time.

The score looks very ominous, with commentators questioning the ability of the underdog to come back.  But then the words are always tempered with the proviso that this team won’t give up till the final siren.

And how true this has been for both my favourite teams?  With ten minutes to go, the opposition relaxes or my team just digs deep, coming up with masterful plays that seem to stun their opponents into losing.

There may be times when things are looking totally lost for you.  The devil would love you to believe that there is no hope, but here is the Good News!  Jesus died for you - and that changes everything!

Here’s a gift, today, from a Saviour who loves you …

“Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows;

but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33b

TODAY, remember, the siren hasn’t sounded yet!
