Guarded presents by
Imagine this… It’s Christmas time, the tree is up, the presents have been wrapped and appropriately lodged beneath the branches.
You turn into your street and notice a security car parked outside your home. As you stop the car outside your garage you get a glimpse of someone inside your home. You open the front door to be presented with two armed security guards standing either side of your Christmas tree.
At that moment of confusion and amazement, in walks your wife, and obviously the look on your face requests immediate explanation. “Hello darling. These guards will be with us till Christmas morning… and it’s costing us nothing. I just felt that it is important to make sure our presents are safe this year.”
Still perplexed by the situation you go out to the kitchen, sit and request a coffee.
We value our things a great deal? Cars, homes… and even Christmas presents! God instructs us to value our affections as much. What happens inside us is vital to our growth and maturity! Here is some wisdom for you…
“Above all else, guard your affections. For they influence everything else in your life.” Proverbs 5:23
