Grow seaweed

by Bruce Wadd

Farming life is one of constant battle against all sorts of elements – weather, economics, politics, policy etc.

A prominent example of resistance is the salinity problem that many farmers of Australia are facing in the 21st century. Many scientists have forecast the demise of river systems, farming and the rural economy because of the massive increase in salination.

Recently, though, some farmers in a particularly badly affected area looked at the problem, faced their possible ruin, and came up with some positive answers.

“Instead of farming livestock and grain crops requiring plenty of fresh water, why not grow seaweed?” said one desperate but creative farmer. “It flourishes on salty water!”

It sounded simple, and with plenty of ingenuity, hard work and creativity, these farmers have turned the problem of saline water into an economic boom for their area.

If you will allow Him, God will turn the challenges and negatives within your life into amazingly simple, yet profoundly positive outcomes, giving you opportunities you never dreamed of before!

“Anything is possible if you have faith.”

Mark 9:23

TODAY, let the ‘salt’ turn into something good!
