Grounded

by Bruce Wadd

It had been a week of silence - a retreat where no one spoke, except for a forty-minute daily session with a listener.  This person merely asked pertinent questions from our diary.

The process became increasingly spiritual over the seven days, and I allowed myself this privilege because of some personal issues that needed to be sorted.

The most confronting part, though, was at the conclusion.  The program’s facilitator gave us some simple tasks on the last day.  “Please, tidy your rooms, make your beds and clean the toilets,” she directed.  “It will help ‘ground’ you, bringing you back to the reality of every day living.”

We can have many different experiences in life, some deeply spiritual, and others at the opposite end of the spectrum – living with the spoils of temptation and sin!

But at the end of all this we simply face the same dilemma, both you and I – coming to Jesus and humbly submitting our lives to Him!

Here’s something we need to remember EVERY DAY, especially TODAY!

“Only in returning to Me and waiting for Me

will you be saved;

in quietness and confidence is your strength…”

Isaiah 30:15
