From a distance

by Bruce Wadd

As I arrived she was leaving the supermarket.  She was wearing white, plenty of jewellery, wavy shoulder length blonde hair, and finished off with dark, wrap around sun glasses.

From a distance Peggy looked quite young and attractive. So I followed her with my eyes. Momentarily we had eye contact, and I felt compelled to talk. What a discovery!

As the sunglasses were removed, the aging lines of a tough life were revealed.  Many body piercings, wrinkly lips, and rough speech showed a person who had travelled through many challenging experiences – most were showing on the surface!

How many times do you look at someone, from a distance, and make an immediate judgment about who they are.  Whether they are better than you, below you, or maybe even not worth talking to?

The only way to find out … come close!  Get personal.  Build a relationship.  You will probably be surprised at what you discover!

I am glad that God comes close - His love is intimate and personal!

“Yet day by day the Lord pours

out His steadfast love upon me…”

Psalms 42:8a

Get close to those He leads you to, TODAY!
