Freckles on a nose

I have a prominent freckle on my nose.  I’ve been self-conscious of it ever since I was a child.  Once I remember a friend’s mother handing me a serviette saying, “You’ve got something on your nose”.  I was so embarrassed.

Recently, my two-year-old son noticed my freckle.  He looked at me closely and with the honesty of a child said, “Mummy, nose dirty”.

I instantly felt the old wave of embarrassment sweep over me.  All those years have passed, and I am still self-conscious about that freckle!

You might have some features you are overly sensitive about too.  Your ears might be too big, you might be very talkative, and you might have an unusual laugh!

It’s a relief to know that while others may sometimes judge us on our outward appearance, God looks at what’s on the inside.

“God judges persons differently than humans do.

Men and women look at the face;

God looks into the heart."
