Flick the switch by
I was drilling holes for nailing down our new deck. Everything was going fine until I broke the first of three drill bits.
Having replaced the drill bit I proceeded. It was obvious that there’d been a change. The drilling was hard. The timber was starting to smoke, and filings of timber were coming out of the hole differently.
Being very much an amateur renovator I continued. After I’d run out of bits, I blamed the change on a different batch of ‘tough’ timber, raced to the hardware and bought replacement bits.
Finally, with the job looking like it was going to take much longer, I began to look for other solutions. Inspecting my new drill I noted a small lever adjacent to the power button. Quickly, I realized that it had been accidentally flicked to reverse.
With the switch flicked to forward, drilling immediately returned to smooth and easy. Things were back to how they should be, and… I was happy!
Let me encourage you today, to do a stop-check on your life. Are there areas where it seems incredibly hard? Where nothing seems to be working?
You might be trying to reverse what God wants to do. Why not let God work with your passion and vision deep inside your heart? In His time fluency and favour will be the result! You will be satisfied!
“Trust in the Lord instead. Be kind and good to others; then you will live safely here in the land and prosper, feeding in safety.” Psalms 37:3
TODAY, it’s as simple as flicking a switch – trust Him!
