Flexing those muscles

by Bruce Wadd

Lately I have had to do quite a few back exercises to compensate for a recent back injury.  They have been simple stretches to tighten the stomach muscles, which as you get older, need more attention.

What seemed like a simple exercise, initially, has lead to quite a profound change.  The extra strength has enabled me to move in ways that I haven’t been able to function for quite a while.  It has also provides greater protection for my back during the normal day-to-day activities.

Without those exercises I would not think of doing certain strenuous moves or lifting heavy weights given the poor back quality.

Faith is somewhat like a muscle. In crisis, faith is always tested, but how is this spiritual sinew strengthened over time? By little stretches!

God often confirms small things in your life, which daily builds your faith in Him. He regularly uses both people and circumstance beyond your control to strengthen that sinew of faith.

Have you done your stretches, TODAY?

“Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for Him.”  Hebrews 11:6
