Fishing boat slipstream

by Bruce Wadd

Sitting in the surf the other morning next to a river mouth proved to be a fascinating experience.  Just on sunrise fishing boats started to appear on the horizon, headed towards the river entrance, returning home.

As the sun rose a beautiful silhouette became evident – the horizon and an outline of this long-tentacled monster heading home from a night of fishing.

As I studied the black and white picture even more closely, I noticed hundreds of birds flying around the back of the boat, as if they were captured in its slipstream.

Obviously the birds knew it was feeding time, and they stayed with the boat right through till it docked inside the safety of the river mouth.

Ever thought of slipstreaming Jesus that way?  How much time do you spend feasting on His wisdom? Following His every move?

Take note…

“Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit.  For apart from me you can’t do a thing.”

John 15:5

TODAY, get into God’s slipstream!
