Finding a path

by Bruce Wadd

Several years ago I took my two teenagers to a wonderful National Park in North Queensland.  The joy of ‘rock hopping’ up a fast flowing stream covered with thick forest on either side held our attention for at least an hour.

We realized that the light was fading, so we contemplated our return to the car park. In my finite wisdom, I suggested we leave the boulders and take the forest for our return adventure – what an understatement!

In a matter of only a few minutes we were quite lost, having no idea which way to proceed, and no path to follow! Luckily every now and then we could hear voices in the distance, which gave us some hope.

Relief came in the form of a well-trodden path, which obviously led back to our starting point.  My teens learned some valuable lessons on that trek, and so did their father.

It is no different in your spiritual journey.  Our lives need a path to follow, particularly when so many things try to impinge upon our journey. Take comfort in the following –

“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”
Proverbs 4:18

TODAY, search for God’s path for your life!
