Father’s heart connected

by Bruce Wadd

Ever watched a father playing with his children in a park?  Flying a kite?  Swinging his child around?  Walking a pram?  There is always a strong sense of pride and ownership.  Imagine the father with his chest poked out, displaying his offspring to the rest of the world.

Yesterday I had the delicate experience of listening to another father’s heart, but this time it was breaking apart.  Through divorce his children had been taken from him, and gaining access was an incredibly difficult process.

The close relationship that he longed to have, that he had dreamed of in days past, was fading like the sunset.  All he could do now was live in hope.

This reminds me of God’s heart that likewise continues to be torn apart every time we walk away from Him through sin.  God just longs to have relationship with you, today!

How are you connecting with Him today? Are you breaking his heart?

Listen to His heart for you…

“For a brief moment I abandoned you.  But with great compassion I will gather you.”
Isaiah 54:7
