Eva reminded me…

by Bruce Wadd

The ten year old girl rushed up to me, “You’ve got to come and meet my mum,” Jasmine declared proudly.  And so I was ushered over to meet this mystery person that I had heard so much about.

Eva, the mother of a student in my care, nervously introduced herself, knowing that her offspring had been talking to me about her.  It was a brief conversation, but significant in answering some of the deeper questions.

At a later and more in-depth chat I discovered some history…

4      Jasmine was the result of a passionate two-day relationship, and neither mother nor daughter knew of dad’s whereabouts.

4      Eva’s ongoing mental illness had been the result of one experience with magic mushrooms.

Her life was now directed by these choices as to where her life was now heading!

Eva reminded me of the long-term impact of choices.  Passionate, right, even minute, they may seem at the time, with our senses saying ‘this won’t matter!’, but decisions make a huge difference to the direction and impact of the rest of our lives.

“Run from anything that stimulates youthful lust.

Follow anything that makes you want to do right.

Pursue faith and love and peace.”

2 Timothy 2:22 NLT

TODAY! Here’s some wisdom for all.  CHOOSE WELL!
