El Nino effect

by Bruce Wadd

If you are a weather expert you will know all about this potentially disastrous natural phenomena.  Over the last few years the east coast of Australia has increasingly faced the effects of this growing problem – El Nino. This is when cooler sea temperatures bring dry air over a continent.

In my part of the world cool mornings turning into hot and dry days are the indicators that El Nino is present.  So often in the morning there are rain-threatening clouds overhead, producing not one drop of moisture for the thirsty ground.

Do you know people like that?

You may have come across those that promise heaps but deliver little – those that take lots and give nothing in return!

What are you involved with?  How are you giving of yourself?  Are you an El Nino-type of person?  Taking, but not giving?

You will be so much more rewarded when you make a heart commitment to what you are involved with, and begin appreciating the hidden joys of serving others.  Blessings flow from service. Look at how Jesus set the example for us all.

“My purpose is to invite sinners to turn from their sins,
not to spend my time with those who think themselves

already good enough.”

Luke 5:32

Today, let El Nino vanish from your life, and serve others!
