Drinking on the go

by Bruce Wadd

My dog has taught me so much about life! Yet again it was something simple, yet profound.

In my part of the world it’s wise to walk in the pre-dawn coolness in summertime. Usually the dew is still noticeable on the ground.

After thirty minutes of walking, both dog and owner are ready for refreshment, but this clever pet beats me every time to quenching his early morning thirst.

As we walk he merely finds someone’s well cut lawn, bends down and licks the beading dew from the blades of grass.

Simple really! But I suppose an adult crawling on all fours and licking the grass would look rather silly - even in the early morning!

God instructs us to do the same. Get your refreshment constantly, at any point of your day. Bend down and start drinking! Here is the command…

“Always keep on praying.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17

That means as you’re walking, showering, working, traveling, resting! Whatever you are doing, God wants you to keep talking with Him.

TODAY, remember to pray on the go!
