Dog smile

by Bruce Wadd

I am sure that dogs have a charmed life, designed to bring pleasure to us, but particularly their masters!

Diesel, our family’s favourite canine, I’m convinced, regularly smiles at me. When he’s fetching the ball; ready to go for a walk; when any family member arrives home; when food is on offer – all these are opportunities to get excited and celebrate life!

Probably the best thing about the relationship between dog and master is the ongoing attitude. ‘I am always pleased to see you!’

When you interact with people, and certainly at home, there are times when a positive reception is not always on offer. But when I get up in the morning, it’s always the same. “I’m excited to see you, excited about life… let’s go for a walk!” says my fabulous pet.

How are you towards your master, God? Are you always wanting to be with Him? Enjoying His company? Expecting Him to bless?

Maybe it’s time to smile, to be continually happy to seek Him, excited about what’s next on His list of things for you to do!

Here’s the Psalmist’s attitude towards God…

“I will keep on expecting you to help me.

I praise you more and more.”

Psalms 71:14

TODAY, put on that smile, and get into life!
