Didn’t recognize

by Bruce Wadd

I was buying a car for my wife.  I arrived at a particular set of units, and before long was sitting in the ‘top of the line’ Holden Astra.  It was in a good condition, and as I checked it out, I began thinking that it was probably worth making an offer.

The young owner simply advised us that someone else was already interested, but they had yet to place a deposit on the vehicle.  She said she would call these prospective buyers and work out what would happen next.

Half an hour later, I got the call saying that the other interested party had accepted their offer.

When I got home, a little disappointed at missing out on the car, I decided to check prices.  My chagrin worsened when I discovered the vehicle was at least $2000 cheaper than equivalent cars.  I was angry with myself for not being better prepared, for not recognizing the true value of the vehicle.

I wondered whether you’ve ever treated Jesus lightly, with disregard.  Have you looked at the price paid for your life and not recognized its true value?

Here’s a reminder… His love for you is complete!  He cannot love you any more than He does already – one hundred per cent!

At the end of time He will say to those that didn’t recognize His voice, “I never knew you!”  What’s your response?

“All who listen to My instructions and

follow them are wise, like a man
who builds
his house on solid rock.”
Matthew 7:24
