Cuddle brings smile

by Bruce Wadd

Yesterday I saw a beautiful photo of my young nephew, Samuel.  Picture in your mind an active little fellow who has just tripped over, hurt himself and is crying.

Mum comes running, sees Sam with arms outstretched, reaches down and picks him up.  Mum’s caring fingers wipe away the tears as Sam shows her the smear of blood on his injured knee.

Next thing he is on the table with mum carefully wiping away the red mess and applying the mandatory band-aid – blue is today’s requested colour!

Samuel then stands up, and calls out, “mummy, catch!”  With arms open wide mum receives a much happier young fellow, and at that point the photo of Sam’s face is taken.

What a face!  What a moment!  What an important event in his life?

Are you like that with God?  Are you crying because you are hurting?  God can wipe away the tears.  He can put on band-aids.  But most importantly, he can catch really well.

“You have everything when you have Christ.”

Colossians 2:10

Today, enjoy the cuddle!
