The crisis of now

by Bruce Wadd

As the airline staff carried out the normal pre-landing preparations, an announcement advised passengers of current time and weather details.  Flight staff finally took their seats, belted in for the landing.

Back a few rows, a mother of an infant was stroking the child, creating a picture of serenity and security, whispering pleasantries into a dozing ear.

Suddenly the plane’s wheels hit the tarmac with a loud bang, jolting everyone aboard.  Passengers gave out all sorts of surprised and concerned explanations.

The baby’s eyes immediately opened, the face contorted, ready to let out an alarmed shriek. But just before the screech was uttered, the newborn’s eyes caught a glimpse of a calm mother, continuing to stroke and speak softly, reassuring the child that everything was OK!

The wise mother knew that a calm approach was best – “if the mother is OK, the child is OK!”

Apply this to your life.  When you look into God’s face, via the Bible, prayer or another Christian…etc., you can see a coping ability far beyond your own.  God knows the future, and can help you through the crisis of now!

“Even when walking through the dark valley of death

I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me,

guarding, guiding all the way.”

Psalms 23:4

TODAY, look into His face… and survive!
