Contingency plans

by Suresh Manoharan

All plans were finalized for the church picnic till one of our church elders asked an important question at our final planning meeting.

“Do we have plan B”? He asked.

He wanted to know if we had alternate plans, should the original plans go awry.  So in a hurry we firmed up some contingency plans.

After a very enjoyable picnic, everything went as per plan; I quietly pondered our elder’s comment.  It struck me that God never had ‘plan B’ when it came to reaching ‘the ends of the world with the Gospel’.

For two thousands years He has used His children, however imperfect, to reach the unsaved with the ‘Good News’, when He could have used angels.

Here’s His promise to those who set out with a burden for the unsaved…

“And be sure of this:

I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20b

Do we need any ‘contingency plans’?
