Cold water burst by Bruce Wadd
There are times when, because of our work commitments, my wife and I need to be in the bathroom together. I usually try and get the showering part completed first, and then as habit would have it, I launch into shaving whilst she enters the shower. By the time I am pouring water into the basin ready for a ‘face-scraping’, she is under the hot water.
The other morning as I put a blast of hot water into the sink, a shriek, and then a curse, came from the shower cubicle. “Turn the hot water off. You’re stealing it from me!” came the aghast cry.
Getting a ‘cold-water’ wake up call is never pleasant, but it certainly gets your attention!
Likewise there are times in your life when God uses people and events to get your attention. He wants every part of you, and will do and allow amazing things to happen to let you know His incredible love for you.
Paul was blinded for three days. Jonah was swallowed in a fish. Moses faced a burning bush in the desert. What is God going to use to get your attention?
“Expect God to act!
For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason to praise him for all that
he will do.
Have you had your ‘cold water’ wake up yet? |
