Cocktail party conversations

by Linda Messner

Ever had a conversation where you answered questions that hadn’t even been asked yet?  You say ‘fine’ before the other person asks ‘How have you been?’… Or ‘you’re welcome’ before the other person says ‘thanks’.

I call this ‘cocktail party conversation’, words that don’t have any thought or meaning behind them, they just come out of our mouths as the next expected words in the conversation.

As Christians, how often do we use the phrase ‘I’ll pray for you' like cocktail party conversation?

Prayer is the very heart of God’s church.

"The prayer of a righteous man

is powerful and effective."

James 5:16 (NIV)

Keep praying, God IS listening.
