Cleaning out the sink

by Bruce Wadd

I have lived in many homes without a dishwasher, so I am quite used to the old fashioned method of ‘hands in the hot water’.  There is something satisfying about seeing the dishes rinsed, cleaned, wiped and put away, but the job is not yet done.

Most of the time there is a residue left in the sink, chunks of food caught in the plughole, meaning that the water disappears rather slowly.  The rather horrible task of getting out all that rubbish usually becomes mine.

Despite the disgust for this task, rapidly disappearing dishwater is reward enough for the discomfort.

Your life can be similar. The only way to get the water flowing again is to dig out the rubbish.  Here’s God’s way of doing that!

“Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results” James 5:16

Make TODAY a tidy sink day.  Be open to God and others!
