Clean and content

by Bruce Wadd

Turbo, our female kitten, has become a mother for the first time.  It’s a joy to watch her move from being ‘that crazy kitten’, racing all over the place, to becoming a mother of four precious bundles of soft fur.

Innately she has fitted immediately into her new role. I particularly love the way she gets her offspring feeding together, wrapping her paw around the four tiny bodies, gently licking each of them to keep them clean and content.

It so reminds me of how God has treated me over the years, constantly welcoming me back, caressing my often-wounded spirit, allowing me to feed from His strength and wisdom, and be restored by His grace.

His soft gentle voice, His stern commands, and His regular reminders – have all bolstered and sustained me through many years of my life.

Thank you Lord for being my guardian and guide throughout my life, especially when I really didn’t think that I needed You!

“But I am like a sheltered olive tree

protected by the Lord Himself.

I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.”
Psalms 52:8
