Clean Slate Act

by Bruce Wadd

On the radio came the special announcement, New Zealand parliament had legislated a new law – the Clean Slate Act. Citizens that had received a criminal conviction could now, after seven years, have the details hidden from public scrutiny, as long as it didn’t involve jail time!

What great news for many people! For many a less thoughtful moment or wrong direction in life, could be turned around and wiped clean! This Act offers freedom from past wrongs – a new life possibility!

How similar to the Gospel! Jesus wants you to put everything on the table. (He already knows!) When confessed, He then takes it and forgets it. He wipes the slate clean, forgetting everything as though it has never happened.

All of this because of Jesus’ sacrifice for you! What a great God we have!

Here’s a reminder…

“He has removed our sins as far away

from us as the east is from the west.”

Psalms 103:12

TODAY, take the chance to be ‘clean’, forever!
