White-roofed chook sheds by
Already the day was warm, with hardly any breeze. The chooks were chirping away in the sheds, and the sun was just rising on another sweltering summer’s day. I had discovered a pleasant new spot to sit and contemplate life with a brilliant city view. The only negative was the great big chook sheds only metres down the hill from my new parking area.
This farmer had obviously taken extra steps to make the ‘locked-in’ experience for these egg-producers at least humane. He’d painted the roof a brilliant white. Added to this was a watering system, designed to spray the roof and cool the building during really hot summer days. What a thoughtful man he must be!
How could any ‘life’ wisdom come from this? Let’s build the connection for a moment!
Despite the fact that you have sin in your life, and you are in the midst of a sinful world, God has taken the ‘real heat’ out of your existence. The Gospel states in simple terms – “Jesus’ blood has covered you today. He merely asks you to accept the fact!”
You can know that your ‘chook shed has a white roof, and the installed sprinkler system is working’… just accept it by faith!
