Chance gathering

by Bruce Wadd

When was the last time you stood around a baggage carousel at the airport?  You’re stuck there for a few minutes waiting for your luggage, and, if you're like me, you can’t resist studying the other people paused with you.

Most likely you will never see any of these people again, but there are probably times when you have met someone from the past – a chance gathering because you were stopped for a moment, waiting for a bag!

There may be someone who comes across your path today, and it may be your only chance to say “Hello!”

Meet them.  Hear their story.  Impact their life by listening.  Learn from them.  You never know the new opportunities it may lead to!

Jesus had many ‘chance’ meetings that changed lives forever.  A woman gathering water, a boy with loaves and fishes, a widow with only two small coins, a short dude up a tree…

“I have not kept this Good News hidden

in my heart, but have proclaimed

Your loving kindness and truth

to all the congregation.”

Psalms 40:10

Who is it … for you, TODAY?  Be ready for your chance!
