Caught the eye

by Bruce Wadd

I sat in a plane on its descent into my local airport. The pilot was navigating his way around a severe thunderstorm when all of a sudden the plane shuddered and dropped. All on board were safe, despite being a little shocked.

What got my attention was the scene that occurred in the aisle seat across from me. A sleeping infant, cradled in her mother’s arms, woke with a fright, and in an instant was ready to scream. But the wise and caring protector caught the babe’s eye, responding with a soothing mother’s voice, touch and focus.

In that moment the situation moved from distress to calm, in the hands of someone who understood relationship.

The opportunity lay firmly in the mother’s hands, and she made the difference. If it had been anyone else the passengers would have heard the distressed screams of an infant. Rather, they witnessed a babe’s calm smile and gentle gurgles.

Is that the way you look at God? When life suddenly gets your attention, do you look into His eyes, and see peace and calm?

Remember…

“Don’t worry about anything;

instead, pray about everything…

you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand…”

Philippians 4:6,7

TODAY, let God catch your eye!
