The results are often ugly with pus, weeping wounds, scabs and indentations left in the skin. But the end results are wonderful – renewed skin, and the body healed!
It’s been my experience that God works the same way. Before the fruits of the Spirit really show through, He digs around in the depths of our lives and expels the ‘bad stuff’ through confession and submission to His will. Sometimes it’s ugly and painful, but the joys of Christian living are the end result.
“For we naturally love to do evil things that are just the opposite from the things that the Holy Spirit tells us to do; and the good things we want to do when the Spirit has His way with us are just the opposite of our natural desires.
