Call the police by
“I wasn’t sure what to do,” struggled Evelyn. “It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do,” she continued, with tears beginning to spill from her eyes.
Evelyn, a parent of an angry and often defiant twelve year old, was disclosing her latest struggle with her eldest son. The final straw for her, that helped her make the decision to call the police, was when he not only threatened violence but actually started punching.
Now the internal dilemma of whether she had done the right thing or not was spilling over, in strong emotions of doubt and guilt!
Do I really love him? Will he reject me for what I have done? How will if effect our long term relationship?
These and many more questions flowed into our valuable conversation, ending when I affirmed her in her difficult moment. She had let Alex know how much she loved him.
The strong boundary of love clarified what was acceptable and what was unacceptable… and gave Alex a chance!
God, Thank you for making the decision that changed history… and give me a chance!
God gave His ONLY Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
