Butt search

by Bruce Wadd

It was only a moment’s glance, but it captured so much of my attention.  Standing outside a bistro entrance was a gentleman ready for breakfast.  He had one last task to do before going inside – to find a place for his cigarette butt.

I happened to capture the moment he started looking, and he seemed somewhat bemused because around the entrance was no receptacle for putting out cigarettes.

In times gone by people would have just dropped the used article on the ground and pulverized it into the surface with their shoe.  Times have changed!  Society has now said that it’s not acceptable, and you must find an appropriate place to dispose of your used butt.  Thus the dilemma for this gentleman!

Now I didn’t stop to see the end result of his search, but let me apply this to your search for eternal satisfaction.

God left inside you, through his original design work, an imprint, a need to find an eternal connection with your creator – Jesus Christ.  Our lives are therefore spent searching for this answer.

Let me remind you of the only answer to this hunt.

“I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.

No one can get to the Father except by means of me.”

John 14:6

Today, finish your search forever…  in Jesus Christ!
