Boo… ha! ha! by
With absolute delight the infant chuckled, trying to outsmart her mother with continued delight. What laughter! Surprise! Enjoyment! What a feeling of connection between the three, in this moment of intimacy and pure pleasure!
Today, I am just wondering how often God aims to surprise you? What kind of things in your life are there purely for your pleasure, sent from a Father who loves to hear you chuckle?
The sunrise? The sunset? The magnificent rainbow. Someone’s courteous thank you? A pleasant affirmation from a colleague?
Are you listening? Did you hear the surprise?
“And if you hardhearted, sinful men know how to give good gifts to your children, won’t your Father in heaven even more certainly give good gifts to those who ask Him for them? Matthew 7:11

With pleasure written all
over the infant’s face, she swung from side to side, held securely by her
father. Mum was hiding behind dad’s strong shoulders, moving from side to
side, peaking briefly next to dad’s head and surprising the infant with a
‘boo’.
