Beyond the foundation by
I live in a new housing estate. Constantly new homes are being erected.
In one section a project home company bought four blocks facing onto a natural area, intending to build homes. The earth movers levelled the ground, the plumbers installed the stormwater drainage and the builder completed the initial measurements for the foundations.
Early the next morning labourers poured and smoothed four concrete slabs – a massive undertaking to achieve in one day!
That is now some months ago! Nothing has happened since! The slabs have laid silent waiting for the construction of the expected mansions.
As a Christian, you’ve accepted God as your Saviour – the foundation is laid. But there is so much more that God wants to do for you, in you and through you. He wants you to have a wonderful life, but you need to move on beyond the foundation.
“In the same way, we can see and understand only a little about God now, as if we were peering at his reflection in a poor mirror; but someday we are going to see Him in His completeness, face to face.” 1 Corinthians 13:12
