Believing beyond seeing by Bruce Wadd
The mountain was majestic in my mind. The intricacies of the tree shapes, the clouds that regularly hovered around its slopes and peaks, and the overall mystery of the view from the top - this was the mountain of my childhood!
So the big day came when the family decided to tackle the slopes together. Finally all family members were old enough for the task. With backpacks, binoculars, snacks and water everyone set off for this exciting adventure.
One section after another… the slopes just seemed to keep on going, and the only thing that kept me going was the hope that upon reaching the top that the view was worthwhile. I had to believe beyond what I could see and feel!
Well to shorten the story… yes, the peak was conquered, and the views, with or without binoculars, were much more than I expected. You could see so much! I had made it!
Do you see beyond your failures? Your personality floors? Your selfishness? What is going to sustain you through the self-doubting and difficult times?
Here’s some Bible truth for you…
“It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.” Hebrews 11:1
Today, hang onto your faith – trust in Jesus… he will sustain you! |
