Bar graph exposure

by Bruce Wadd

Given the worst drought since my city began, Brisbane, has just gone to Level 5 water restrictions. One of the requirements is NO use of hoses.

With my pool going down, I just thought I’d slip the hose in for a while – no one would notice!  And that’s true – not even my own family detected the additional water!

But then, several months later, I got my water bill.  It declared on a simple bar graph how our household water usage was up, well above the suburb and city average.  I had been exposed … caught out!

Whether you like it or not, eventually all your sins will be uncovered.  It will be exposed for the world to see, either through confession or through judgment.  You choose!

For some, the thought of being found out is incredibly uncomfortable.  Good!  It may get you thinking about your great need of Jesus!

“… someday everything [in people’s hearts]

shall be brought to light

and made plain to all.”

Luke 8:17b

Lord, I confess my need of you, and my struggle with _______________.
It is only You that can change my desires.  Take my life again today.  Wash me clean.  Make me whole again.  Give me a fresh picture of your love!

If you still want to talk about your situation further, why not send an email to the our pastoral care team!
