Back to the sun

by Bruce Wadd

Having seen this event thousands of times I was amazed at witnessing this morning’s sunrise from a different perspective!

At sunrise I often sit in my west-facing study, writing, praying or reading.  This morning was no different, except that I watched the sunrise by turning my back to it!

The sky changed from a deep grey to a soft pink.  Then a hint of light touched the tallest tree, and over the next ten to fifteen minutes the trees, electricity poles, houses and finally the grass was bathed in fresh sunlight.

How often is our awareness of God the same?  Often we don’t see God in an event.  It is only in turning our backs away from a situation – hindsight – that we discover how powerfully God has been working through the experience.

Remember,

“…the Lord will guide you continually,

and satisfy you with all good things,

and keep you healthy too;

and you will be like a well-watered garden,

like an ever-flowing spring.”

Isaiah 58:11

TODAY, enjoy the sun on your back! See how God works!
