Are you like that?

by Linda Stroud

Jake was a very determined four-year old that wasn’t too satisfied with who he was right now.  He came to Sunday School each week dressed as a different super hero.  One week he was Superman, next Batman, and the following week Spiderman . . . and the list went on.

I’m not too sure if Jake knew who he truly was!

One week, I looked Jake in the eyes and affectionately told him how much I really liked who Jake was and the boy God made.  He adamantly refused my words and immediately tried to convince me, with great conviction and fervour, that he was not Jake but Spiderman.

Are you like that?  Are you trying to be someone else or perhaps live up to someone else’s expectations?

Or do you rejoice in the person intimately God made you to be?

“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!

It is amazing to think about.  Your workmanship

is marvellous – and how well I know it.”

Psalms 139:14

Do you believe Him?
