Already here

by Bruce Wadd

Ever arrived in a crowded room and began looking for a friend?  You may have even started talking to others about your friend.  “Have you seen %^$&#?” you inquire.

With the look you get from those facing you, you gradually realize that your friend is already here, and you immediately hope you haven’t said anything inappropriate.  In fact, if you were more vigilant when you entered you would have known!

How many church meetings have I been to where I hear people, particularly preachers, declaring that they are waiting for God to show up?  Then by the end of the meeting people reflect by saying that “God really was here today!”

Today, I would like to challenge that fallacy.  To me, it's a massive error to think that God will show up, because He declared that He would be dwell within us … that He would be with us always!

Taking this even further, I believe He is present constantly - unless we ask Him to leave.  It could change how your next church gathering goes!

“… and be sure of this – that I am with you always,

even to the end of the world!”

Matthew 28:20b

If He is already here, how will that change what you think and do?
